Alexander Prokopienko, PharmD, PhD
Dr. Prokopienko graduated from Albany College of Pharmacy with his PharmD and subsequently from the Univ of Pittsburgh with his PhD in Clinical Pharmaceutical Sciences. During his PhD, Alex was selected as a recipient of the AFPE Pre-Doctoral fellowship, NIH TL1 Post-Doctoral fellowship and NIH Clinical Research Loan Repayment Program. After completing his PhD, he joined Vertex Pharmaceuticals as a Clinical Pharmacologist.

Alex De Piante graduated in 2012 from UNC Charlotte with a BS in Biology, Magna Cum Laude. He joined Hughes and Associates and has been working there as a recruiter for over seven years. He enjoys speaking with candidates and clients about their goals and needs and helping facilitate the hiring process of matching candidates with their ideal role and clients with their ideal candidates. Outside of work he enjoys playing and watching soccer, family time, outdoor activities and volunteering in a variety of capacities.
Yi Ting (Kayla) Lien, PhD
Yi Ting (Kayla) Lien is an associate scientist in the Clinical Pharmacology Department (Modeling and Simulation) at Genentech. She recently graduated with her Ph.D. at the Center for Pharmacometrics & Systems Pharmacology, Department of Pharmaceutics, University of Florida at Lake Nona (Orlando campus). Under the mentorship of Dr. Stephan Schmidt, her research focuses on mechanistic PBPK/PD model on therapeutic proteins, quantitative system pharmacology modeling approach in postmenopausal osteoporosis population and optimizing dose strategies using population modeling methods. Her research findings were presented at several scientific conferences and were awarded several awards including the prestigious Quality Trainee award in the American Conference on Pharmacometrics (ACoP8) annual conference. Outside of academics, Kayla is very involved in the scientific community and have held several leadership roles such as International Society of Pharmacometric (ISoP) Student Chair, president for UF American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) and American College of Clinical Pharmacology (ACCP) student chapters to assist in ensuring students/trainees’ needs are met for their career development. She also chaired the student programming events for both ACoP8 and 9 conferences. She is a member of a number of professional organizations including ISoP, American Society of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (ASCPT), ACCP, AAPS, and AAAS. Before joining UF, she received both her BS and MS degrees in Pharmaceutical Sciences from State University of New York at Buffalo.
Patra Rungruangphol, PharmD
Clinical Research Associate
Patra D. Rungruangphol holds a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry as well as a PharmD and an active Texas pharmacist license. Prior to coming to IQVIA, professional experiences include providing direct patient care as a pharmacist intern in the community pharmacy and performing pharmacotherapy interventions in acute care and outpatient settings to treat cardiovascular, endocrine, psychiatric, and infectious diseases. Patra has 2 years of experience working as a clinical research associate and monitored an array of investigational drug (Phase: I-III) and device trials within the following therapeutic areas: ophthalmology, cardiology, and oncology.
